my first emeritus post... and it has to be something like this :S
Howdie dudes... yuppers. first post in god knows how long. and guess what? it ain't a lovie dovie post... it ain't a funny post.... it ain't an impt post.... it's a completely inane, useless, and an utter-waste-of-time post! really lah.
this champion... added me to his msn out of the blue and started msging me. charan44@hotmail.com was his msn email, charan is his nick... not sure if any of you know him... unlikely... but anyway he added me and the following msn conversation ensued. He sure was irritating!

charan: bz konon
charan: donkey
darren: who are u?
charan: idiot
charan: am charan la
charan: the sabah charan
darren: i think you got the wrong person
darren: i don't know any charan
charan: lupa kawan
charan: hey
charan: enough is enough
charan: if you want to pretend don know me its k

charan: bye
darren: (thinking better clarify i really don't know him so he won't disturb me next time) charan from where?
charan: charan jit kaur
charan: cherry? (excuse me, but which guy actually goes about calling himself CHERRY?! :S )
darren: you really got the wrong person then
darren: i'm darren from smu
darren: year 4
charan: i got the right person
charan: darren singh rite?
darren: darren lim (at this time i'm getting quite annoyed already)
charan: wat?
charan: bastard
charan: bye
charan: irritating specimen
darren: (now i'm just damn pissed at the irritating conversation) next time when people say you got the wrong person
darren: please believe it
charan: I know you are darren (duh, i said i'm darren LIM wat. not SINGH)
charan: n take the bastard
darren: (not wanting to take his insults without any retaliation at all) fuck you understand? i am darren lim, a chinese singaporean. i don't know who you are, where you're from, and what you do. don't come adding people wrongly and start hurling vulgur insults and insisting you got the right person.
darren: go call your bloody darren singh friend and ask him what his msn address is
darren: don't go making stupid assumptions
darren: i'm blocking you now, so don't bother replying.
yup. so that's the end of this completely unenriching unediyfing post. possibly the only takeaway you might have from this entire issue is that yes, i actually do lose my temper and communicate vulgarities to people every now and then, as rare as it may be.
btw, do any of you know what some of the words he said mean? i'm not sure. looks like malay. should be a malaysian indian chap judging by his name and the mention that he's from sabah.

Since I can (supposedly) speak Malay and all, I thought I'd help you translate.
"charan: bz konon" - implies you're only acting/pretending to be busy
"charan: lupa kawan" - forget your friend (said in an accusing manner)

P.S. From the name, I think charan is a girl. And I dunno what "kuta" means. I doubt it's in the Malay lexicon.
hey! nice to see that you finally blogged an entry. Enjoyed randomly surfing by and reading your entries. Your writings are well written and are a pleasure to read.
You are right though. Too bad your first 'emeritus post' has to be about something so silly and random.
On a separate, related note (wow. oxymoron. haha.), I just have to say this: Blame it on my limited vocabulary..but its unusual that you would term the blog emeritus. I have never seen the word emeritus used in a context other than 'emeritus professor' before *grin*.
Hope you do write more regularly. Heartening to know that in Singapore, there are still those who blog with clarity and mature thinking. :)

and yah, emeritus is used mainly for professors. jus tot i'd get a kick out of using it on my blog. :)
